A Whole Load of Confetti
Why I Love this Wedding Photograph
Jamie & Emma emerge as a married couple at Doxford Barns
While most weddings are still on hold, I’m always looking through some of my recent work and my eyes wandered across this lovely picture from Jamie & Emma’s beautiful wedding at Doxford Barns in December last year.
It reminds me during the current COVID-19 crisis that love is not dead, and it will, for sure, resurrect itself in some unique weddings next year.
I feel desperately sorry for all my clients who have been impacted this year. I know that when you do get to celebrate your wedding, it will be amazing - and probably even better than you ever expected.
Jamie and Emma were lucky. They got their wedding in just before the world was turned upside down. And it was a gorgeous wedding, and they are a beautiful couple who are very much in love.
Onto the photograph in question; I adore the confetti run part of the day. As a documentary style wedding photographer, I’ll never interfere or stage this. Wouldn’t you rather a picture like this, full of fun, action, excitement and happiness over a staged image with people “pretending” to throw the confetti?
I feel that this part of the wedding day, after the solemnity of the ceremony, is where people start to relax and enjoy themselves.
The bubbly is opened, and the hugging and congratulations flow. It’s a charming part of the wedding day.
I hope you love this wedding picture as much as I do. And remember, for my clients who have postponed their weddings, I’ll be there with you every step when your big day comes around - and I promise it will be wonderful.
