Dad Dancing - From a Wedding at Château de la Bourlie

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

Wedding at Château de la Bourlie

A lovely moment with Dad & Daughter from this wedding at The Château de la Bourlie

One of the rites of passage, it seems, for a bride, is the father-and-daughter dance. The dance usually takes place shortly after the first dance and often at the same time the groom is dancing with his mother.

This particular Wedding at a Chateau in France was no exception.

Ricki and Will had had a fantastic wedding, taking place over two days at the amazing Château de la Bourlie near Urval in South Western France.

The day was running a little behind schedule, but this did not matter at all because every second of the wedding day was amazing for Ricki and Will, and for me, as the Wedding Photographer.

My role as a photographic observer is to watch and capture these many little events that happen at every Wedding.

A real Documentary Wedding Photographer, like myself, will never stage these moments. Who would want to remember this in any way other than the best way - authentically?

What I love best about this wedding photo is, of course, Dad’s face. It tells us so much of the relationship between himself and his daughter.

He’s drenched in sweat, by the way, because this was a part Jewish wedding and they had just completed the Horah, which is the celebratory dancing often seen at Jewish weddings

I love this wedding photo from Ricki & Will’s Wedding at Château de la Bourlie, and I hope you do too.

I’ll leave you with the Photofilm of their fantastic Wedding. Turn the sound up, and get ready for the Horah.
