Wedding at The Leander Club, Henley
A Beautiful Wedding at The Home of British Rowing
A Beautiful Autumn Wedding at The World Famous Leander Club, Henley
Monica and Nick had postponed this wedding twice, but they eventually got the fantastic wedding day that they so deserved.
Both established and successful rowers, it seemed fitting that they chose their club and legendary Rowing Club, The Leander in Henley as the setting for their wedding.
Leander Club, founded in 1818, is one of the oldest rowing clubs globally and the oldest non-academic club.
It was an emotional day, and one filled with tears of joy and oh so much laughter. Having spoken to Nick and Monica several times over the previous 18 months, I knew how important it was for them to have their friends and family with them as they celebrated their wedding.
Much like military weddings have a Guard of Honour, Rowing weddings have a Blade of Honour.
The weather held off as the drinks reception spilt onto the concourse before the guests headed inside for another emotional roller-coaster in the speeches.
Along with being an International Rower, Nick is also an accomplished photographer in his own right.
It was a brilliant day for me as Documentary Wedding Photographer. I've been to the Leander Club several times before. My last visit was when I gave a photography workshop to Team GB Rowers just before they headed to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
I left the happy couple dancing the night away. I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I did creating them.
