The Wedding Gift

Why I Love this Wedding Mini-Story

Dorothy gets a helping hand with her Bridal Gift

From a Wedding at Château Cazenac

For this mini wedding story, I want to take you back a few years to the beautiful wedding of Dorothy and Bill at Château Cazenac, France.

As is always the case with French Château Weddings, it was a spectacular weekend. Friends and family had flown in from Ireland and other parts of Europe to celebrate the wedding.

However, I want to draw you this small but significant series of pictures I captured during bridal prep.

As is often the case, the groom leaves a little gift with the bridesmaids to give to the bride during the morning hair and makeup rituals.

As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, it’s my responsibility to be aware of all the minor events that unfold at weddings. So, in this case, as I spied Dorothy’s sister handing her the little gift box, I wanted to tell the story that was about to unfold.

In real-time, it’s a case of moments, but forever now, those moments are recorded and remembered by this little mini-story at the wedding.

From the short but touching note in the box to the look of wonder and surprise on Dorothy’s face and finally to the fixing of the necklace by her bridesmaid.

A lovely wedding mini-story that I hope you will agree is worth recording with authenticity and respect for the moment.

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.
