The Innocent Look

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

Giving the wedding photographer the “stare”.

From a recent Wedding at Nutbourne Vineyards

This photography is one of my favourites, from many, of the recent Nutbourne Vineyard Wedding of Alice & Mark that I shot.

It's lovely to be back shooting weddings, and this coming week, I will shoot four weddings in four different parts of the UK.

As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, I spend a lot of time observing and waiting for photographs to unfold.

I never direct or dictate images, but sometimes I can see that something that will make a charming photograph unfolds in front of me.

In this case, during the drinks reception, as the weather was so warm, many babies and toddlers were placed down on the floor to explore the world at their level.

In many cases, I don't take a shot if an "adult" is looking directly at the camera (depending on the circumstance), but usually, with little people, the opposite is true.

I love this wedding photograph, and I hope you do too.

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.
