Father and Bride Walk Down the Aisle

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

Father and Bride Walk Down the Aisle

From a recent Wedding at Widcombe Grange, Culmhead, Taunton

This photograph is a beautiful moment from the recent wedding of Alex and Tim that I photographed at Widcombe Grange, Culmhead, Taunton.

The ceremony itself was at the nearby St Peter & St Paul's Church, Churchstanton, and this is Alex, beaming, walking down the aisle at the start of the ceremony with her father.

This picture works so well in black and white, but, as you may know, all my clients get every image in both black and white and colour.

The wedding of Alex and Tim was one of ten that I photographed in September. All those months of postponements and anguish seem to be, thankfully, over - and many weddings are happening right now.

It's a beautiful moment. As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, I wouldn't dream of directing or orchestrating these shots. The moment is a fragment of the family's history that must happen organically.

In many years to come, Alex, Tim and her Dad can look back at this very picture and remember the moment they walked down the aisle to the waiting Groom. Their friends and family were looking on, beaming with excitement as the day ahead began.

I'm well and truly back in the saddle now, with many weddings being edited, and I look forward to sharing more complete weddings on this blog over the coming weeks and months.

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.
