The Comforting Arm

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

St. Stephen's Trust Wedding

Joe gives Kelly a reassuring arm during their Wedding at St. Stephen’s Trust

From a Wedding at St. Stephen’s Trust on Rosslyn Hill, Hampstead

Today’s image is from the Wedding of Kelly and Joe that I photographed four years ago. They had a lovely Wedding at St. Stephen’s Trust with a small and intimate celebration.

Regular readers of my Journal will know that I like to post full Wedding Stories and individual snippet posts where I describe why I love particular photographs.

In this case, we can see the emotional Kelly being offered a comforting arm by Joe when they are exchanging vows.

I’m a Documentary Wedding Photographer, which means it’s essential for me to ensure no moments are staged or contrived. And you can’t direct such a moment between people who are about to commit to spending the rest of their lives together.

I love the love in this photograph. From the touching arm, the hidden tears to the smile on Joe’s face.

It was a wonderful moment that I’m pleased I captured for them on their Wedding Day.

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.
