Temple Church & Baltic Restaurant Wedding
The Winter Wedding of Mary & Ellis
A Beautiful Winter Temple Church & Baltic Restaurant Wedding for Mary & Ellis
In January I was thrilled to head to London to shoot the gorgeous winter wedding Mary & Ellis.
In the heart of the winter, the weather in the preceding week had been particularly wet. So much so, that a considerable flood around the Baltic Restaurant & Bar had put the whole wedding in threat.
However, the staff of the restaurant and the water company worked tirelessly to clean up that part of London, and the wedding went ahead.

Some of my favourite stills from the wedding follow the film.
The Temple Church, London Wedding Ceremony
It’s always an incredible honour to photograph weddings at this church.
I’ve been there many times, and the Canon and his assistants always afford me a warm welcome.
It is an incredible church, steeped in history, in the heart of London’s legal sector.
When the choir strike up, it sends a chill down your spine and what better way to be welcomed into the grand old church.
According to Wikipedia, The Temple Church is a Royal peculiar church in the City of London located between Fleet Street and the River Thames, built by the Knights Templar as their English headquarters. It was consecrated on 10 February 1185 by Patriarch Heraclius of Jerusalem. During the reign of King John (1199–1216) it served as the royal treasury, supported by the role of the Knights Templar as proto-international bankers. It is jointly owned by the Inner Temple and Middle Temple Inns of Court, bases of the English legal profession. It is famous for being a round church, a common design feature for Knights Templar churches, and for its 13th- and 14th-century stone effigies.
Baltic Restaurant & Bar Wedding Reception
It was a short cab ride to the other side of the River Thames where the brilliant Baltic Restaurant & Bar awaited Mary, Ellis and their guests.
A short drinks reception led us straight into some very touching speeches, love and laughter.
Being in the heart of London, Ellis had arranged for an old fashioned cockney sing-a-long which had everybody stamping their feet and clacking their spoons to some of London’s favourite songs.
After that, we treated to some more entertainment in the form of poems and music from friends before Mary and Ellis headed onto the dance floor for their first dance.
Below are some of my favourite stills from the wedding. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
