Jewish Chateau Wedding in The Dordogne

dordogne-wedding-photographer.jpg

Back in June, I headed south to France to photograph another Chateau Wedding in The Dordogne.

Rickie, Will and I had first spoken several months previously about their wedding, which at the time sounded terrific, and in the end, was amazing.

I'll talk more about their amazing Chateau Wedding in The Dordogne after this... It's a wedding photo film of some of my favourite images from their day.

Turn the sound up, and I hope you like it:

How was that?  I hope you enjoyed it.

The dancing at the end of the evening was typically vibrant and a total pleasure to be a part of.

The Dordogne is one of my favourite places in the whole world.  The rolling countryside for miles and miles, friendly people and great food and wine.

The event itself was held over two days.  Both Rickie and Will are from the United States, so there was the traditional rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding.

The wedding day proved to be a glorious and typically warm Dordogne day.

Blues skies, warm sun and lots and lots of people from all over the world with big smiles on their faces. The ceremony was a hybrid Christian and a Jewish one.

This was a first for me.  I've shot Jewish weddings before and of course, Christian weddings too.... but never one with a Rabbi and a Priest in attendance.

I thought it was an ideal compromise and both Will and Rickie and their friends and family seemed to enjoy the outside ceremony. So, once the dinner and speeches were made, there was only one thing left...  the dancing.

And boy, did they dance. As a documentary wedding photographer, it is an absolute pleasure to be able to tell stories of peoples wedding like this.

I love to use a combination of light and moment to enhance the storytelling techniques and hopefully make engaging images that will remain faithful to the day for many decades to come.

One of the images, of Rickie and her Grandmother, I have posted about previously in an article: Tenderness ~ Why I love this Image.

If you haven't already, please check out the photo film at the top of this post.

If you also want to look at some of the stills, they are below.

I hope you enjoy looking at Rickie & Will's Chateau Wedding in The Dordogne photographs and Photofilm.
