The Happy Groom - Why I Love this Wedding Photo
A few weeks back, I photographed the lovely wedding of Andrew and Florence at St. Peter and St. Pauls Church, Gosberton.
I think it's fair to say it was a day of two halves, weather-wise, and I'll show you more of the whole wedding in due course.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this one image that I particularly liked from their wedding in Lincolnshire.
As an authentic documentary wedding photographer, I'm always looking out for those tiny moments throughout the day that nobody else gets to see.
In this case, I could tell as Andrew and Florence were walking down the aisle as newlyweds that they were both delighted and deeply in love.
This manifested itself to a certain extent as Andrew took Florences' hand just as they broke through the church doors into the darkening skies of Gosberton.
It's a simple thing, but for me, compassionate touch and, as I mentioned, one that nobody else will have witnessed.
Working as a natural wedding photographer means that I don't create these moments.
These are real, absolutely honest and authentic moments from Andrew and Florence's wedding.
Some "documentary wedding photographers" will be telling you exactly how to behave at this point, directing you and your family to smile or "look at the camera".
I prefer to be as sympathetic to the day as possible, and my commitment to my clients is that they make the memories, not me - I am the person that captures them as a story.
