Richmond Wedding Photographer

Immediately after finishing shooting Harriet and Thomas' Suffolk Wedding I hopped in my car and drove down to London.

During that drive, we had the most awful rain storm.

Given that it was Summer, it was pretty unprecedented and my mind wandered to the fact that Chris and Stacey were having a majority of their wedding day in Marquee.  In a field.  By the River Thames.

A little feedback from Stacey & Chris

Hi Kevin
We’ve spent so long trying to find the words to sum up how the photos make us feel, but it’s just not possible to convey.

It’s safe to say that we absolutely love them. You’ve caught so many intimate moments, and the photos tell the story of the day perfectly and bring back so many incredible and happy memories. The shots you have of us together are so natural and much better than an awkward, posed smile!

Here are a few verdicts from friends and family:

”I have so many comments (like hello B&W filter my new bff making us all look so tanned), but I also cried three times watching it. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such pure happiness and joy than on your face. You are just utterly sensational in every shot.”

”There are some absolutely beautiful ones in there! I’m still shocked by the fact he captured all these intimate moments, and I didn’t even notice him there!” “Oh my gosh, these make me so happy!!”

”Some absolutely stunning photos there!”

”Bloody brilliant photos, Stace. Felt like I’ve just relived the day. I can almost taste the prosecco.”

”I stayed up until 1 am last night watching it and it was well worth it!” “Ash and the falling Jenga saving the wine is amazing! There is also one of Gemma/Becky singing at each other which is class!! Stace, you look amazing throughout.”

”Love these, shedding a tear, such an exceptional day.”

The best decision we made was choosing you to tell the story of our wedding day.

We will cherish these photos forever and can’t thank you enough. We’re already looking forward to seeing the photos of Rich and Rhea’s wedding next summer!

Richmond Wedding - The Photofilm

Speaking to Stacey and Chris on the day, Chris and his best men slept overnight in the Marquee to ensure there was no flooding. Luckily there wasn't.

The rain went as quick as it came and it turned out to be a fantastic wedding - and one of my favourites that I've photographed. I started my day at the always impressive Petersham Hotel, before heading to the lovely Richmond Church of St. Matthias.

I love being a Richmond Wedding Photographer as I lived in Richmond for many years myself.

Because of that, I've photographed at St. Matthias several times, and I'm always warmly welcomed by the clergy there.  A very open and happy celebrant and service.

It's essential for me that the ceremony plays the central part, and to that end, I always try and photograph the service as quietly and sympathetically as possible.

I want my wedding pictures to remind the clients of the event, not remind them of me. Before you look at some of my favourite stills from Stacey and Chris's wedding, you may like to take a look at the Photofilm. Turn the sound up, press play and relax:

A Selection of my Favourite Stills

All weddings are unique and lovely.  That's a given.  But some weddings seem to just effortlessly flow, and that was certainly the case for Chris and Stacey.

Not only were they deeply happy, all their friends and family made sure the day was an amazingly joyous occasion.

It's easy to remember back to this wedding and posting this blog made me smile so many times with happy memories - and I was just the photographer.

The gorgeous ceremony as I mentioned, the walk from the church through the beautiful meadows leading down to the River Thames and then waiting from Stacey and Chris to arrive on a boat being labourously rowed by Chris's groomsmen.

After that, I was heading over to Douglas House Meadow (Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts) where the wonderful Marquee had been assembled during all that terrible (now forgotten) weather.

As a documentary wedding photographer, it was a great setting; lots of kids playing games.

Lot's of adults playing games. Some severe Jenga skills going down at one point and as I left, there was a bit of controversy in the ping-pong-in-the-beer game.

And what can I say about the dancing...
