Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

Plaisterers Hall Wedding Photographer

Future Husband and Wife?

From Poppy & Rasim’s Wedding at Plaisterers Hall, London

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.

I’m taking you back to 2010 for this “Why I Love this Photograph” edition. And it’s one of my favourite images over the past fifteen years or so that I’ve been a professional Wedding Photographer.

As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, I spend most of my time watching the guests at the wedding. This photograph evolved in front of me moments before Poppy and Rasim’s first dance at the beautiful Plaisterers Hall near The Barbican in London.

When I selected this image for today’s post, I couldn’t help but wonder about the two children featured. They will be well into their teenage years now, and perhaps, when they see this photograph, they might smile at their childhood moment shared. I do hope so.

I speak about this often during my Wedding Photography Workshops; photography is all about nostalgia. Our ability to capture a precious moment on film and be able to revisit it is the most powerful and vital part of my job.

I love this Wedding Photograph, and I hope you do too.
