Emotional First Dance

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

Thad and Claire share a tender moment during their First Dance

From a Wedding at Temple Guiting

This post is part of my Why I Love this Wedding Picture series, where I describe why I, as the photographer, love a particular image or series of photographs.

This First Dance photograph is one of my favourites from Thad and Claire's Temple Guiting Wedding that I shot several years ago.

The Wedding First Dance is often seen as the final "formal" element of the wedding day here in the U.K. It typically symbolises the start of the partying, where the guests can let their hair down, and the band or DJ strikes up the tunes.

This emotional First Dance was just one of several passionate and fun moments throughout their wedding day.

Some couples are uncomfortable doing a First Dance (as I would be), and some eschew it altogether. However, Thad and Claire use this moment to demonstrate their deep love for each other.

As with all my Wedding Photography, I don't interact or interfere. These images, and all others on my website, are actual moments that occurred in real-time on the wedding day.

I love this wedding photograph, and I hope you do too.

Here are a few more from that amazing dance sequence too.
