The Nervous Bridesmaid - At Notley Abbey

Why I Love this Wedding Photograph

From a Notley Abbey Wedding

From a Notley Abbey Wedding

A while back I photographed this beautiful wedding at Notley Abbey

It was a gorgeous day when I photographed the wedding of Thomas and Elizabeth at Notley Abbey.

Notley Abbey is one of those amazing wedding venues with charm, character and lots of space for a wedding photojournalist like me to explore.

Working the way I do, I spend a lot of time observing and looking for those little moments that the bride and groom may not notice.

I particularly love this photograph. It often makes me smile when I recall the moment.

This photograph was taken just moments before the little girl walked down the aisle ahead of the bride.

I imagine she had spent eighteen months or so, excited by the fact she was going to be a bridesmaid. Then, moments before her big appearance, the confidence drops, the little wand dropped, and her bottom lip started quivering as she saw all the faces of the congregation.

It’s a beautiful picture, and I know it was one of the favourites for Thomas and Elizabeth too.

Destination: Buckinghamshire Wedding
