Dad's Gaze - Why I Love this Wedding Photo

wedding-at-inchyra-estate-33.jpg

I often try to get this shot—a "look through" shot of either mum or dad watching on pensively.

This is one of my favourites of these type of shots from this lovely wedding I shot in Scotland last year at The Byre at Inchyra.

When I edited this image, I found myself captivated and wondering just exactly what is dad thinking here?

As a dad of a little girl myself, it will be many years before I'm in this position, but it always makes me wonder. I expect it's happiness tinged with just a tiny bit of sadness at the child becoming a woman.

I'll probably be a blubbering mess when my time comes. I hope you like this wedding photo as much as I do.

Don't forget; you can see more daily images over on my Instagram channel.

As always, please do check out my full wedding photography blog and I hope you like what you see there.

If you are looking for a real storytelling wedding photographer at The Byre at Inchyra Estate or anywhere else, then please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
