Newport County v Tranmere Rovers Playoff Final - Family Snaps with the X100F
Newport County v Tranmere Rovers Playoff Final - Family Snaps with the X100F.
Today, I saw a delightful article posted by one of our Fujicast Podcast listeners to the Facebook group about a Tottenham Hotspur supporter and his fan photos.
It was just a day trip, and as usual, I took my trusty Fujifilm X100F (no, I haven't upgraded to the X100V. Yet!) in my pocket.
The day started out wonderfully, warm, great supporters and a family-friendly atmosphere.
One of my best memories of the day is when I poked Albie through the turnstiles in front of me and he waited patiently for the security guard to pat me down (for any illicit booze no doubt).
Albie then asked me why he didn't get a "Welcome to Wembly hug from the man". Bless his little heart.
These are the types of days that will stay with us forever.
Sadly, as the last image testifies, Newport County was on the losing side at the end of the day, and we lost 1-nill in extra time.
It was a fair game, and Tranmere Rovers probably deserved to win. Everything was shot snapshot style in Acros on the X100F, and as it happens, my mood in the result is replicated in the dark editing style. I feel it gives it a look of days-gone-by.
I remember my dad taking me to watch Newport County when there were still at Somerton Park.
And I remember the smells of hotdogs and swearing, and sweaty men pushing and cheering, the claxons, the gates and the uneven ground beneath my feet.
Of course, I remember the goals, the wins, and the loses, and I remember those days.
Crucially, I remember those days.
Certainly, it was a day I loved with Albie and hopefully, though not this season, we'll see Newport finally move up the leagues.
Who Knows?
