During our summer vacations, the family and I usually end up in Andalusia. This year is no different and I thought I'd do a Fuji X-T2 AF-C Test under pretty harsh conditions.

NOTE: It's early August 2016 and the Fuji X-T2 will be made available publicly in September. The camera I'm using is a pre-production Beta camera with Beta firmware. This means that the features and functionality, as well as image quality I am getting may well be different when the retail camera hits the stores.

The following video is very simple; its 14 frames (no sound) showing the Fuji X-T2 AF-C Test that I did. The relevant configuration is:

Fuji X-T2 using the XF56mm F1.2 Lens
Aperture set to F1.2 to test the tracking as much as possible.
A 4 Stop ND Filter to allow me to keep the aperture set to F1.2
ISO 200
1/2,200th Second shots.
In this case, I set the AF-C Custom Setting to Set 3: For Accelerating / Decelerating Subject

One of my requests during the planning of the X-T2 was to enable the opportunity to have custom tracking settings and I was really pleased to see that Fuji incorporated this into the camera.

My understanding is the firmware update that is coming for the X-Pro2 will not have these AF-C Custom Setting options, but it will have the additional Auto Focus module and speed added.

I think using the 56mm 1.2 lens in this test, rudimentary that it is, through an ND filter and at f1.2 - the camera has performed admirably. What do you think?

In comparison, I also tested a similar scenario with my X70, X100T and also my X-T1 and of course, the X-T2 was the clear winner.

These are just holiday snaps of course, and no doubt I'll put another post up with some more of my favourites from the trip. I've been shooting a lot with the Fuji X70 and also the GoPro Hero 4 in the pool.
